My area of research interest is conversation analysis with a focus on the practice of peer social support. I have published articles and book chapters on advice giving, empathy and sympathy, encouragement and empowerment in a peer support setting. I have also published articles on consumer-run warm lines and peer leader programs. I currently advise our undergraduate Communication honors society, Lambda Pi Eta, which has yearly inductions in the Spring, and also oversee our mentor program, which connects students to working professionals. I want to encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions about our undergraduate majors or graduate programs.
