BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Tyson has over 30 years academic and applied experience planning, implementing and evaluating education and communication programs/projects. Much of his work deals with agriculture and environmental issues. He is Professor in the Department of Communication at Central Connecticut State University where he teaches courses in strategic public communication, persuasion/social influence, public relations, environmental communication, group/team communication, and research methods.  From 1998-2003 he was Director of Central Connecticut State University’s Center for Social Research. He has worked both multi-year and short-term assignments in the east and southern Africa, the West Indies, and New Zealand. He has extensive survey and experimental research experience, program evaluation experience, and advanced qualitative/quantitative analysis skills and has published over 25 books, book chapters and journal articles.
